onelove artist in residence and community space in NOLA

Like our sister center in Los Angeles, The Vortex, founded in 2008, onelove is also a privately funded philanthropic venture with focus on community and unity. Its purpose is to allow visiting artists to experience the City of New Orleans with its rich culture and deep roots which are the very origins of some of our truly American art forms. A focus on creating a piece of work in their particular medium will be required by all visiting artists. There is also a community meeting space on site that can be used as a studio, gallery, or performance space as well.

Our purpose is to support individuals, groups, or organizations who seek to raise awareness on issues they think are important to a better community. We invite all participants to think of solutions in a long-term model of sustainability. How are we going to transform the way we think and live? We invite promoting the idea of joining people in a common cause.

Please stay in touch by signing up for our newsletter, and if you have questions please email us at info@onelove.org

onelove is located in the heart of NOLA, ten minutes away from the French Quarter.

We look forward to helping YOU help make a difference!

Next Daring Discussion Potluck on January 3rd

Dear All, Before we launch into the frenzy of the next week, I wanted to remind everyone to mark your calendars for our next Daring Discussion Potluck at the New Orleans Healing Center on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 from 5:30 pm - 7:00pm. Originating from the Woman’s March, the Healing Center Daring Discussion Potluck is a place for people of all backgrounds and beliefs to come together to discuss issues facing our community. Too often we are stuck "preaching to the choir" and too worried to have honest or inclusive conversations with those with opposing political views. Daring Discussions breaks down those walls and allows challenging yet important conversations to occur with people of all political beliefs and socio-economic backgrounds to occur. We discuss current political issues facing our country that cause many to feel they should ‘walk on eggshells’ when these topics are brought up. These issues include; sexism, transphobia, racism, environmental needs (climate and science denial), classism, ableism, sexual misconduct, xenophobia, and many more. Please bring a neighbor/friend,and a dish and become part of this important movement to break down barriers and unite our community. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill RESIST. We are powerful, Sallie Ann Glassman
